Cal. 45 Colt. S# 18685. Bbl. 7 1/2" with Hartford address. 6-shot fluted cyl. Black powder frame with bullseye ejector rod head. Frame, bbl., grip straps, and cyl. have matching S#s. Left side of frame has a weakly visible "US" marking. Bbl., ejector rod housing, cyl., trigger guard, and rear grip strap exhibit a "C" proof, indicating sub-inspection by A.P. Casey. 1-piece walnut grip. Mfg. in 1875. CONDITION: metal has faded gray appearance showing handling marks and spots of light pitting. Grip shows heavy wear with dents, marks, and small chips. Action shows wear, first notch is missing. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27665/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
