U.S. COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY CAVALARY MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 482. Bbl. 7 1/2". Single Action Army Cavalry Model revolver mfg. by Colt under contract for the U.S. government circa. 1873-1874. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by "U.S.". Underside of bbl. and trigger guard exhibit an "A" (Ainsworth) inspection proof. Metal components have been professionally restored by Tommy Haas. Frame, hammer, and loading gate exhibit a reapplied case colored finish, with the bbl., ejector rod housing, cyl., trigger guard, and rear grip strap exhibiting a blue finish. Bullseye ejector rod head, trigger, and frame screws exhibit a nitre blue finish. Metal components exhibit traces of flaking varnish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip, stamped with a boxed "OWA" cartouche on the left side. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl., and bbl. Ejector rod spring is absent. CONDITION: frame, hammer, and loading gate retain the majority of their professionally reapplied case colored finish, showing some light fading along edges, as well as some spots of darker discoloration. Blued parts retain the majority of their reapplied finish, showing some light edge wear, as well as scattered scratches and superficial handling marks. Bore exhibits scattered patches of dark moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics.
