Lot 3226 WINCHESTER MODEL 1903 SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE.

Cal. 22 Auto. S# 98138. Bbl. 20". Model 1903 semi-automatic rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1915. Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard factory markings denoting Winchester's mfg. and patent information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Bbl. exhibits a blue finish overall, with the bolt being polished in-the-white. Checkered wood pistol grip buttstock and forend, with crescent buttplate and Winchester hard rubber grip cap. Dovetailed blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the upper and lower assemblies. CONDITION: upper and lower assemblies retain a dull gray patina, with light pitting present overall. Bbl. exhibits some spots of light to mild wear and thinning, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as areas of light surface oxidation overall. Bore exhibits areas of deep and dark pitting, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1807/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
