Cal. 22 WRF. S# 139441. Bbl. 24". Model 1890 slide action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1902. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, with the cal. designation marked at the breech. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the hammer, which exhibits a case color hardened finish. Plain wood straight grip buttstock, with grooved wood pump. Dovetailed blade front sight (rear of bead painted white), with U-notch rear sight. Upper assembly is properly unnumbered. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on edges), with some superficial handling marks present overall. Receiver exhibits areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Buttplate retains a mostly gray and brown patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be some scattered small spots or light pitting and/or oxidation, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1813/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
