Lot 3222 WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

Cal. 30-06. S# 108633. Bbl. 23 7/8". Model 1895 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1915. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the cal. designation ".30 GOVT.1906." at the breech, with Winchester's mfg. and patent information marked on the left side of the receiver. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood buttstock and ebony inlaid schnabel tip forend have been sanded and revarnished. Buttstock has been shortened and fitted with a black rubber recoil pad. Forend profile has been dropped on either side at the schnabel tip. Dovetailed aftermarket blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Bbl. has been shortened at one time. CONDITION: receiver, mag. assembly, and lever assembly retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patina. Bbl. retains the majority of its blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning, with light surface oxidation present overall. Dark bore, exhibiting consistent moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, with the forend exhibiting a chip on the right side. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1833/MLW).
