Cal. 30 Army (30-40 Krag). S# 95209. Bbl. 27 7/8". Model 1895 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1915. Left side of the bbl. is marked ".30 Army" towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood ebony tipped schnabel tip forearm and straight grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Pinned blade front sight with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver has faded to a gray patina, exhibiting consistent light pitting, as well as scattered spots and patches of age related discoloration. Remaining metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, some superficial handling marks, and light surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Muzzle exhibits some marring along the lower edge. Wood furniture shows numerous scattered marks and impressions overall. Buttstock exhibits a chip stemming from the receiver on the left side of the wrist, with notable finish loss present on the toeline. (25-4734/MLW). CURIO. $600-900.
