Lot 3207 PRE-WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 94 LEVER ACTION SADDLE

RING CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 938240. Bbl. 20". Model 94 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1923. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by the cal. designation at the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked with the model designation and patent information. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight forearm and straight grip stock with steel carbine buttplate. Wood furniture has been sanded and refinished at one time. Blade front sight with carbine leaf rear sight. Left side of the receiver is fitted with a saddle ring. CONDITION: frame, lever, and rear bbl. band have mostly faded to a dark gray patina, showing light pitting overall. Bbl., mag. tube, and forward bbl. band retain good amounts of their original factory blue finish, showing consistent light surface oxidation overall. Buttplate has been cleaned, retaining fair amounts of bluing and exhibiting striations from cleaning. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered handling marks, impressions, and dings, but otherwise remains sound. (25-4757/MLW). CURIO. $600-900.
