ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). S# 383700. Bbl. 26" octagon. Model 1894 Deluxe mfg. by Winchester in 1907. Metal components exhibit a blue finish. Deluxe finely figured checkered walnut pistol grip buttstock, with Winchester brown hard rubber grip cap, crescent steel buttplate, and matching original deluxe forearm. Left side of lower receiver tang is marked "379" followed by "4920" which is over-stamped with "X XX X". Rear of stock, under buttplate stamped with matching assembly number. High profile sporting blade front sight, with U-notch flat top sporting rear sight, and unmarked tang mounted aperture sight. CONDITION: receiver retains 20% original blue. Bbl. & mag. tube retain 50% original blue; balance of metal shows wear and thinning fading to brown patina, with scattered superficial handling marks and scattered dark spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate degrees of pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Light sanded and refinished wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks and minor impressions, with moderate wear to the checkering. (25-1741/MLW). CURIO. $4,000-5,000.
