Lot 3182 SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION

RIFLE IN DESIRABLE 25-35 CALIBER WITH DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS. Cal. 25-35 WCF. S#. 416508. Bbl. 26" octagon. Double set triggers. Model 1894 rifle mfg. in 1907. The 25-35 chambering remains one of the most desirable calibers amongst Winchester 1894 collectors today. "ARMAX" survey indicates that from S# 1-353,999, only 10.4% of all model 1894 Winchesters were mfg in 25-35. Standard factory markings. Blue finish with case colored hammer & lever. Plain walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ factory flat checkered steel shotgun buttplate. Brass insert sporting front sight, semi buckhorn rear sight & Marble's tang sight with aperture disc. Button mag. CONDITION: receiver & forearm cap retain fair amounts of original factory blue w/ balance showing wear, thinning & cleaning striations that show through to gray patina w/ some areas of light pitting & age related discoloration. Bbl. retains the majority of its original factory blue showing edge wear & light surface oxidation overall. Lever & hammer retain scant traces of original case coloring w/ balance fading to gray. Buttplate has a clean gray appearance. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks & minor impressions but otherwise remain sturdy & serviceable. Action & double set triggers function appropriately when cycled by hand. Mirror bore with well defined rifling throughout. (25-1728/DS). CURIO. $4,000-5,000.
