1894 SPECIAL ORDER DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE WITH FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). S# 15339. Bbl 26" rnd. Combination front sight, filler and rear dovetail with combination tang sight. Button mag. Action has a replacement double set trigger, possibly done at time of return and repair. Blued finish with case colored hammer, lever and crescent buttplate. Replacement forearm and hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of XX fancy walnut have style H checkering. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly number "3078" followed by wood grade "XX". Rifle was restored by Turnbull mfg. December 2007. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Winchester Factory letter stating the following: Rifle / 30 WCF / Round barrel / Plain trigger / Checkered stock / Pistol grip / Lyman front & rear sights / Half magazine / Blank piece put in rear seat / Received in warehouse July 23, 1896 / Shipped from warehouse July 24, 1896 / Return & repaired on August 1, 1896". CONDITION: rifle retains virtually all of Turnbull custom wood and metal finish. Stock shows a few small handling marks. Crisp mechanics. Bore is bright with strong rifling.
