Lot 3170 WINCHESTER MODEL 92 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING
CARBINE. Cal. 25-20. S# 916845. Bbl. 20". Model 92 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1922. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Single band fastened plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with steel carbine buttplate. Buttstock has been sanded and refinished at one time. Pinned blade front sight with folding leaf U-notch carbine rear sight. Left side of receiver features a lanyard staple and apparent replacement saddle ring. CONDITION: receiver has faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting consistent light pitting and age related discoloration overall. Remaining metal components retain good to large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear fading to gray and brown patinas, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (25-4759/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
