Cal. 38 WCF. S# 252849. Mfg. 1905. Bbl. 24" Octagon with replacement dovetailed white bead front sight, elevator adjustable sporting rear sight. "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. / - New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. Pat. Oct. 14. 1884 -" marked top flat. Full mag. Plain trigger. Lower tang marked "18920 CH". Style "I" checkered pistol grip walnut stock set that terminates with a checkered steel shotgun buttplate that is marked "5933" on the reverse. The butt is marked with the matching "5933" under the buttplate. Winchester Repeating Arms hard rubber pistol grip cap. CONDITION: overall good. Bbl retains approx 85% original bluing with thinning finish, some high edge/muzzle wear and a moderate freckling of old oxidation. The mag tube is in similar condition with a small dent. Receiver finish is thinning in the carry areas with the exposed metal having an even grey/brown patina with scattered handling marks. The stock set has scattered handling marks, scratches and some moderate dings. Bright bore showing some wear to the rifling and some minor pits. (25-1307/ZAL). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
