^Lot 3148 STUNNING WINCHESTER 1887 DELUXE LEVER ACTION

SHOTGUN WITH ATTRACTIVE GAME SCENE ENGRAVING. Cal. 10ga. S# 38496. Bbl. 32" fine damascus twist with post front sight. This beautifully restored example features a nicely executed game scene and foliate scroll engraved receiver that despite being cut outside of the factory is executed in a truly exquisite manner. Fitted with a checkered stock set of figured walnut that is marked on the inside of the channel with "3222". The lower tang of the receiver is marked "2XXX". A very attractive example. CONDITION: bbl has been nicely restored with great definition to the ribbon of the damascus and evidence of pitting that was present in areas prior to the restoration. Very fine receiver with sharply cut engraving/markings and appropriately reblued finish that has some light high edge wear and minor handling marks. Vivid case coloring on some of the internal components. Nice stock set with light wear to the checkering and scattered handling marks and mild dents. Nice bore shows some mild frosting.
