LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 40-82 WCF. S# 7895. Bbl. 26" rnd. Sporting bbl. sights, with Lyman N tang sight. Full length mag. Blue and case colored finish. Straight grip buttstock of nicely grained walnut, with crescent steel buttplate. Forearm is highly figured period replacement. Mfg. in 1887, second year of production. CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube retain 60% original blue, fading to brown, with scattered small dings and scratches. Action retains 30% original case colors, with balance fading to silver/gray, and showing light surface freckling. Stock shows a few very light scratches. Mechanically fine. Bright bore retains strong rifling, showing scattered spots of light pitting. (01-27081/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-6,000.
