Single set trigger. Forearm and pistol grip stock of fancy walnut featuring ebony grip insert, Style H checkering, and steel shotgun buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly # "266" followed by "S" and wood grade marking "XXX". Top tang channel of stock has matching assembly # "266". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating: "Serial number applied on October 22, 1890/ Type: Rifle/ Caliber: 40/65/ Barrel Type: 1/2 octagon/ Trigger: Set/ Checkered stock, Pistol grip/ 1/2 Magazine/ Shotgun butt/ Received in warehouse on November 19, 1890/ Shipped from warehouse on December 04, 1890, Order number 18498". CONDITION: bbl. retains 70% dull lightly faded blue showing spotted freckling. Action has a darkened appearance showing carry wear with lightly visible case colors on its side and In protected areas. Sound action and functioning set trigger. Loading gate is chipped on the lower front corner. Original wood finish and checkering show moderate wear with scattered scratches, marks, and small dents.
