WINCHESTER 1873 THIRD MODEL LEVER ACTION SHORT RIFLE. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). S# 150471A. Bbl. 20" rnd., 4" shorter than standard. "The Winchester Book" by George Madis lists, on page 209 in the "Silver Anniversary Edition 1 of 1000" Wilson states "One of each 450 rifles had special shorter barrel". Original sporting sights. Full length mag. Blue finish, with case colored hammer and lever. Left side of the bbl. and action show British proofs. Proper 8 3/8" short rifle length forearm, with straight grip walnut stock having steel shotgun buttplate. Mfg. in 1884. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum record stating "Type: Rifle/ Caliber: 32/ Barrel Type: Round/ Trigger: Plain/ Shotgun butt/ Received in warehouse on June 10, 1884/ Shipped from warehouse on June 11, 1884, Order number 12676". CONDITION: 30% original blue fading to brown, showing scratches and marks. Stocks have worn original finish, showing numerous scratches and marks, with small chips around top tang. Mechanically fine.
