RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 338342B. Bbl. 24" octagon. Combination front with sporting rear sights. Full length mag. Action has custom aftermarket vine type foliate scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds and straight line borders. Left sideplate vignette features a running whitetail buck. Right sideplate vignette has an open circle for inscription. Crescent steel trapdoor buttplate has highlights of matching engraving at the peak. Action has an aftermarket gold plated finish. Bbl., mag. tube, and fittings have standard blue and case colored finish. Custom forearm and straight grip stock of fancy walnut with hand checkering. Mfg. in 1890. CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube retain 70% dull fading blue showing spotted corrosion and edge wear. Action retains 60% aftermarket nickel finish showing carry and edge wear. Stock and checkering show light wear with some open grain checking on right side of stock. Lever carrier spring screw is missing, leaving the carrier detached.
