VOLCANIC LEVER ACTION PISTOLS. Cal. 31. S# 1261/1966. Originally manufactured between 1857-1860 after the breakup of Volcanic Arms Company by the newly formed New Haven Arms Company, continuing making same design for the self-contained "rocket ball" cartridges. Standard configuration 3.5" octagonal barrel, integral 6-shot spring loaded magazines, S# 1261 magazine has been modified to be loaded on bottom instead of standard from face. Both stamped "NEW HAVEN CONN" PATENT FEB 14 1854" in one line on top flat, fixed notch rear sight, pinched post front sight, brass frame, ivory grips. CONDITION: good to very good overall as customized after manufacture with engraving & ivory grips. Mechanics fine, good rifled bores. (01-26628, 01-26639/JS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
