AMERICAN HUNTING RIFLES, INC. Cal. 375-338. S# 73-94011. Bbl. 22" heavy sporter with 11 degree crown. Front sight is banded ramp with red fiber optic bead; rear is an ERA island base with shallow V express style sight with white vertical line on face. Tang safety action made in 1979 (1968-1992) having receiver milled for its Ruger 1" scope rings. Rebarreled, stocked and customized by American Hunting Rifle, Inc. of Corvallis, MT; company owned by author Wayne Jacobson (no longer doing custom work, parts sales only). Very fine workmanship having matte finished metal; appears Cerakoted. Caliber is 338 Winchester Magnum necked up to .375 creating a powerful, dangerous big game cartridge. Fitted with IOR Bucurest 4X32 matte finished scope with Euro fast focus eyepiece and German #3 reticle (all 3 posts are pointed). Superb, classic straight combed stock with 13" LOP over professionally fitted Decelerator black pad. Dense, straight grained walnut stock with fine 4 panel checkering. Rosewood grip cap and forend tip plus detachable swivel bases (front is barrel band) and stock reinforcement bolt. CONDITION: very light marks on scope tube exterior and 2 rub marks on barrel just forward of barrel band. Thinning of finish on front edges of front sight band. Stock has a few extremely faint marks on left side at action area. Balance of rifle is near excellent to include bore and optics. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.(25-6368/NW).
