CARBINE. Cal. 458 Win. Mag. S# 130-67518. Bbl. 18 1/2" with banded brass bead front sight and folding leaf rear. Fitted with Weaver scope bases and inexpensive alloy 1" rings holding Weaver V4.5W steel tubed wide angle scope having post and crosshair reticle. Hobbiest stock set in need of completion with pistol grip buttstock and schnabel style forend. Buttstock has detachable sling swivel base along with Ruger red pad (in need of final fitting) having 14" LOP; second swivel base on barrel. Mfg. 1978 (1973-1986) with factory barrel marked "45-70 GOVT" that has had a 458 Win. Mag. chamber reamer used to alter the caliber. CONDITION: good general appearance with stock set needing completion (shaping and finish) plus glass bedding due to its hefty recoiling caliber and hobbiest fitment; presently has small crack behind top tang. Light marks on blued surfaces with thinning on lever and right side of receiver. Some very faint marks on scope exterior; near excellent optics and bore. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.
