Lot 2550 RUGER No. 3 CUSTOM 38-56 FALLING BLOCK TARGET

RIFLE. Cal. 38-56. S# 130-60492. Bbl. 25 3/4" heavy taper, 11 degree target crown, .842" muzzle diameter plus Unertl style base with globe front sight; left side of receiver fitted with target base and Lyman 90 MJT target sight. Mfg. 1976 (1973-1986) as Bicentennial model; presently has standard buttstock with Celcon carbine buttplate and added detachable sling swivel base (none at front). Nicely figured replacement forend of No. 1-B profile (no checkering). Unusual caliber from Winchester's line of Model 1886 calibers. CONDITION: very good appearance overall with handling marks on buttstock and somewhat dull appearance to slightly porous (near receiver) grained forend. Barrel finish and bore are both near excellent. Receiver sides have slight peppery oxidation mostly visible on right. Lever has hint of thinning on edges. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.
