Water tables show original black powder proofs along with Birmingham Nitro Powder 410, 3" proofs. Round bodied, side hammer action has sprays of acanthus scroll engraving. Action features top lever for opening & extractor. Wedge fastened walnut checkered forearm w/ ebony tip. Checkered walnut stock w/ steel grip cap. LOP: 14 5/8" to steel buttplate. CONDITION: fair blue on barrel with peppery oxidation & marks. Gray/brown patina to receiver with marks & peppery oxidation. Fair wood finish showing numerous dings, scattered hairline cracks & marks. Pitted bore. Appears mechanically fine when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-5718/MD).
