Lot 2463 REMINGTON MODEL 37 LEONARD MEWS CUSTOMIZED BOLT
ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 01429. Bbl. 24" tapered round with plug screws in the front sight hole. Right side of barrel forward of receiver is marked with a cross & "DF". Top of barrel lacks any Remington markings. Unmarked target scope on J. Unertl mounts with external adjustments. Scope measures 20 3/8" in length with a dot reticle. There are no visible manufacturers markings nor power markings on this scope. Single stage trigger has an added wide shoe. Bolt body is custom jeweled. Walnut target stock appears to be an original Remington stock that is thinned with an added palm groove behind the right side of the pistol grip with an added screw attached Maple grip cap. Forearm has an inletted rail with an adjustable sling swivel. The stock is equipped with a detachable walnut rollover comb extension and cheekpiece with green felt lining. Consignor notes that this customization was performed by Leonard Mews. Weight with scope: 10 lbs, 4.2 oz. LOP: 13 9/16" over a White Line thin rifle pad. MAGS: one datachale 5 round. CONDITION: metal retains over 98% reblued finish. Stock has a good refinish. Sound action & trigger. Very good bright bore. Scope has clear optics. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.
