RIFLE. CAL. 38-55 HP. S# 75645. Half rnd., half oct. 26" barrel. Adj. blade front sight, 2 leaf rear sight & cocking knob mounted peep sight. Checkered walnut sporting stock w/ ebony insert schnabel tip, scalloped hard rubber pistol grip & checkered wood butt section with 2 steel buttplate pieces. MAGS: 1 - 5 rd. CONDITION: fair worn blue mixed with brown patina showing scattered light peppery oxidation. Good wood finish with sm. gouges in checkering, light dings & marks. Buttplate shows worn finish & oxidation. Good rifling with pinprick oxidation. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-5671/MD). CURIO. $800-1,200.
