Lot 2461 RARE REMINGTON NYLON 10 SINGLE SHOT BOLT ACTION
RIFLE. Cal. 22 Smoothbore. NSN. Bbl. 19 5/8". 1 of only approx. 10,700 Nylon 10 single shot bolt action rifles mfg. by Remington between 1962-1964. Left side of the bbl. is marked "22 CAL. SMOOTH BORE", with the Remington trademark logo marked over the top towards the chamber. Receiver, bbl., and bolt shroud exhibit a blue finish, with grooved Mannlicher style bolt handle and trigger exhibiting a chrome finish. Bolt body is polished in-the-white. 1-piece mottled brown synthetic pistol grip stock with checkered panels on either side of the forearm and wrist, as well as a black synthetic trigger guard and grooved buttplate. Black synthetic grip cap is marked "Remington/ NYLON/ 10". Fixed black enamel finished alloy blade front sight, with grooved receiver, and blued adj. square notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, showing few spots of light wear, a few scattered superficial handling marks, and a few spots of light surface oxidation overall. Chromed parts are excellent overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be a small unidentified indentation. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows some scattered scratches and light superficial handling marks, but otherwise remains sound. A very nice example of a rare Remington Nylon 10 single shot rifle.
