Cal. 458 Win. Mag. S# C963. Bbl. 19 11/16" with dovetailed Sourdough brass bead front sight in 2 screw ramped base plus island base for original rear sight having slot blank marked "R.C.P." over ".458"; Lyman 48M receiver sight with 125 point slide. Custom made with matching number "963" low on right front side of its FN Commercial Model 98 action (below stock line) and on its swept back bolt handle. Belgian proofs on barrel (most pronounced), rear tang of action and bolt handle. Smooth commercial bolt shroud with "Finland" marked slide safety single stage trigger. Action is without maker's markings having fine floral engraving to include hinged trigger guard assembly plus floral vignette on front bridge of receiver. Entire bolt assembly and trigger are in the white plus receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases; plug screws installed. Laminated stock of maple and walnut has dark slant cut forend tip and matching checkered grip cap. Fitted with triple stock reinforcement bolts but no extra lug on barrel; glass bedded in normal recoil lug area. Stock has 3 walnut stained checkered panels; each side of pistol grip plus wraparound section on forend. Fitted with detachable sling stud bases and Mershon Whiteline ventilated brown recoil pad; 13 1/2" LOP. CONDITION: very good plus overall appearance with some slight thinning of bluing near muzzle. Minimal, very faint stock handling marks plus 3 hair line cracks; at each end of triggerguard assembly plus behind action tang. Front stock reinforcement bolt appears original whereas the other two appear added later. A few very light spots of peppery like oxidation on very front flat of triggerguard assembly.
