Lot 2331 NEAR NEW CASED SET COLT BICENTENNIAL REVOLVERS

Cased set of revolvers (Python, Single Action Army, and Dragoon) mfg. by Colt in 1976 commemorating the United States Bicentennial, consisting of: 1) COLT PYTHON BICENTENNIAL DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 357 Mag. S# 1497PY. Bbl. 6". Left side of the bbl. is marked "1776 - U.S.A. BICENTENNIAL - 1976", with "PYTHON .357/ * .357 MAGNUM CTG. *" above Colt's single line address marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Cyl. is engraved with "GIVE ME LIBERTY/ (STATUE OF LIBERTY)/ OR GIVE ME DEATH", "PROCLAIM LIBERTY/ (LIBERTY BELL)/ THROUGHOUT ALL THE LAND...", and "E PLURIBUS UNUM"/ (UNITED STATES CAPITAL)/ WASHINGTON, D.C.". Metal components exhibit a lustrous blue finish overall, save for on the top strap of the frame and bbl., which exhibit a matte blue finish. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece plain wood grips, with the left panel being inlaid with a Great Seal of the United States medallion. V/R with pinned blade front sight and adj. square notch rear sight. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish overall, exhibiting few light superficial handling marks. Cyl. bears a couple of faint draglines between the cyl. stops. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics (with cyl. removed to preserve condition). Grips are excellent. (25-6579/MLW). MODERN. 2) COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY BICENTENNIAL REVOLVER. Cal. 45 LC. S# 1497PM. Bbl. 7 1/2". Left side of the bbl. is marked "1776 - U.S.A. BICENTENNIAL - 1976", with "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Cyl. is engraved "DELAWARE/ PENNSYLVANIA/ NEW JERSEY/ GEORGIA/ CONNECTICUT/ MASSACHUSETTS/ MARYLAND/ (50-STAR UNITED STATES FLAG)/ SO. CAROLINA/ NEW HAMPSHIRE/ VIRGINIA/ NEW YORK/ NO. CAROLINA/ RHODE ISLAND/ (13-STAR BETSY ROSS FLAG)". Frame and loading gate exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a lustrous blue finish. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip, the left side inlaid with a Great Seal of the United States medallion. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All numbered parts are matching via assembly # "55" and include the frame (left rear flat beneath grip panel), cyl., as well as the trigger guard and rear grip strap (both on left beneath grip). CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall, exhibiting a few light superficial handling marks. Left side of frame exhibits some fading along the edge of the recoil shield. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics (with cyl. removed to preserve condition). Grip is excellent. (25-6580/MLW). MODERN. 3) COLT DRAGOON BICENTENNIAL SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 1497DG. Bbl. 7 1/2". Left side of the bbl. is marked "1776 - U.S.A. BICENTENNIAL - 1976", with Colt's single line address marked across the top flat of the faceted breech. Left side of frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT". Cyl. is roll engraved with Colt's Ranger and Indian scene, with the S# marked between "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT". Frame, hammer, and loading lever exhibit a case colored finish, with the cyl., trigger, and bbl. exhibiting a lustrous blue finish. Trigger guard and rear grip strap exhibit a silver plated finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip, the left side inlaid with a Great Seal of the United States medallion. German silver blade front sight and hammer notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., trigger guard, rear grip strap, bbl., bbl. wedge, as well as the loading lever. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original 3-drawer wood storage / display case with an additional slot on the right for brown leather bound book titled "ARMSMEAR." on the spine. Book cover and spine feature gold colored embellishments. Each drawer features a red velour fitted interior, with the Dragoon revolver's drawer also featuring a brass powder flask, case colored disassembly tool / bushing wrench, brass & case colored 2-cell bullet mold, an empty steel percussion cap tin, as well as 2 brass keys. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall, exhibiting a few light superficial handling marks. Silver plating on trigger guard and rear grip strap exhibits areas of tarnishing. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip is excellent. Case shows some light superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall.
