SINGLE SHOT TARGET PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 1864. Bbl. 8 1/4". Camp Perry single shot target pistol mfg. by Colt in 1931. Left side of the bbl. is marked "CAL.22 LONG RIFLE", with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the top strap of the frame exhibiting a matte blue finish. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Patridge blade front sight with adj. square notch rear sight. Distinctive fluted breechblock with knurled rear grip strap and trigger. Single action only action. Matching numbers are present on the frame (beneath left grip panel) and on the cyl. crane. Grips are matching via the full S#, which is stamped on the interior of the panels. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, showing light edge wear, some small spots of light surface oxidation, and some superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps and underside of trigger guard bow show some patches of mild wear and thinning that has faded to gray patina. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as some superficial handling marks overall, with the right panel exhibiting a small chip at the butt. (25-5378/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
