SUPER TARGET REVOLVER WITH ROPER GRIPS. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 585349. Bbl. 6". Officers Model Heavy Barrel double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1950. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations above "HEAVY BARREL" between 2 Maltese crosses. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood Roper grips. Grooved King Super Target V/R is inletted into the top strap of the frame, featuring a patridge blade front sight, reflector, and adj. square notch rear sight. Upper section of rear grip strap is checkered, with the lower section being knurled. Checkered wide spur hammer with knurled wide trigger. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing some areas of fading to brown patina (primarily visible when viewed beneath a light), some light edge wear, as well as some light superficial handling marks overall. Left side of frame shows some light pitting beneath the cyl. area. Rear right side of frame has been cleaned and reblued at one time. Near mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in SA and DA modes. Grips show some light to mild smoothing, as well as scattered superficial marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remain sound. (25-5104/MLW).
