SALZBURG. Cal. 8x72R/16 Ga. S# 8078. The 27" barrels are fitted with matted full length rib having dolls head extension. Rib is fitted with one standing, one folding leaf rear and brass blade front sights. Maker's name and address are engraved on tops. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with 1927 Ferlach nitro proofs. Case hardened round bodied underlever action is fitted with peninsula back spring locks having tall spur rebounding hammers. A flip-up rear sight is in top tang. Action is engraved with sprays of scroll within geometric and line borders. Steel capped pistol grip buttstock of plain European walnut measures 13-1/2" over steel buttplate. Stock features right hand cheekpiece, grip checkering and sling loop. Matching captive forend releases barrels to be lifted out with lever that pivots forward under action lever. Barrels retaining about 60% original blue. About 30% original color remains on action and locks. Stocks retain most of their original finish with many marks and bumps. Checkering in moderately worn. Shotgun barrel is shiny, with some minor frosting. Rifle is also fine, shiny with strong rifling. Action is tight. Locks are good. Right trigger will set. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.
