Lot 2278 NICELY RESTORED SMALL CALIBER O/U RIFLE/SHOTGUN BY
SEMPERT & KREIGOFF. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-5/8"/6.5x52 (25-35 Winchester) S# 13911. The 25-5/8" demi-bloc barrels are fitted with full length matted rib with dolls head extension holding flip-up rear and silver bead front sights. Left side of top barrel is engraved "SEMPERT & KREIGOFF, SUHL." Bottoms of barrels are stamped with November 1929 German nitro proofs for 20 gauge and 6.5x52 (25-35 Winchester drops into chamber). Blue, scallop backed, blitz, O/U action features safety on top tang along with pin cocking indicators and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with line borders and sprays of scroll. Trigger guard is steel. Newly made capped pistol grip buttstock of nicely marbled European walnut measures 14-1/2" over checkered horn buttplate and features right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering and sling loop on toeline matching loop on bottom barrel. Matching one piece slim forend has Deeley release. Rifle is fitted with leather sling. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .629. Restriction: O .011 (light mod). Wall thickness: O .020. STOCK: DAH: 2-3/4". DAC: 1-5/8". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 10 oz. CONDITION: very fine as restored. Metal parts retaining nearly all of a professional re-black. Very finely made stocks retain all of their original oil finish with a few handling and assembly marks, most noticable a 1-1/4" shallow dent on left side of forend in front of action. Bores are fine. There are plugged scope mounting holes in top rib. Mechanically good except action has a hint of looseness. Trigger will set. PROVENANCE: Estate of Lloyd Robinson. (25-6667/MGM). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
