Maker's name is on top of left barrel. Barrel flats are stamped with German nitro proofs for 16 Ga. and 8x57 rifle cartridge along with 8/36 proof date. Coin finished blitz action features Greener type side safety, rifle selector on top tang, pin cocking indicators, cross bolt third fastener, side clips and double triggers (front set). Action is very finely engraved with near full coverage well shaded scrolling acanthus surrounding game scenes on sides with bugling stag on left. Right side depicts a roebuck rubbing antlers on tree. Trigger plate is engraved "KRERIGHOFF" "DRILLING" "WALDSCHUTZ" "LUXUS". Trigger guard with short tang is made of horn. Horn capped pistol grip buttstock of well figured European walnut measures 13-5/8" over black solid "Old English" pad and features small shadow line right hand cheek piece, point pattern checkering at grip and sling loop on toeline matching that soldered to bottom of rifle barrel. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .682. R .672. Restriction: L 034 (full). R .024 (mod). Wall thickness: L 016. R .027. STOCK: DAH: 3-1/8". Action with most all original French gray with little evidence of cleaning. Fine engraving remaining sharp and clear. Stocks retain nearly all dull oil refinish with some lifting presenting slightly rough appearance. Grip checkering shows moderate wear. Forend checkering shows some re-cutting on left side. Shotgun bores are bright and shiny; rifle bore is very fine, shiny throughout with strong rifling. Action has just a hint of looseness. Mechanically fine. (25-5016/MGM). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
