Cal. 5.6x35 (22 Hornet)/20 Ga. S# 2228. The 27-5/8" barrels are fitted with full length matted rib holding one standing, one folding rear and silver bead front sights. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with German nitro proofs for 5.4/35 and 20 gauge. Case hardened underlever boxlock type action features non-automatic safety, pin cocking indicators on top and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with sprays of scroll within line borders. Small maker's logo "JGA" is on left side of action to the right and above S#. Horn capped pistol grip buttstock of somewhat marbled European walnut measures 14-1/8" over ribbed horn buttplate and features sculpted side panels, point pattern grip checkering, small right hand cheekpiece and vacant silver circle on toeline which is also fitted with sling loop matching the one found on barrels. Barrels take down with removal of hinge pin. Matching schnabled splinter forend screws to barrel set. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .635. Restriction: L .032 (full). Wall thickness: L .026. STOCK: DAH: approx. 2-3/4". DAC: approx. 1-1/2". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. LOP: 14-1/8". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 11 oz. CONDITION: very fine original. Metal retaining over 95% barrel blue and action color. Stocks retain nearly all of their oil finish with some minor scratches and marks. Checkering very lightly worn. A fair amount of wood is chipped away from exposed end of forend that is designed to have no iron. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight.
