Lot 2270 LOT OF KIRKWOOD RELATED ITEMS.
1) 1- 8" octagonal silver plated salver type shooting trophy awarded to Margaret Kirkwood Park for the "Red Cross Shoot June 28, 1917". Margaret Kirkwood was the daughter of David Kirkwood the gunmaker and she was a noted stock maker and was responsible for most of the fine checkering found on Kirkwood guns. Plate has hammered overall texture and is stamped with hallmarks on back. CONDITION: good. Silver shows considerable rubbing through on face. 2) 2- Red painted square tin powder cans marked "KIRKWOOD" "23" "ELM ST." "BOSTON". CONDITION: good; considerably rubbed and scratched retaining most of their original paint; lettering difficult to read. 3) 1- wooden cartridge box for 22 rimfire 5" x 2-3/4" x 1-1/2" marked 'KIRKWOOD BROS INC" "GUN SHOP" "23 ST. BOSTON, 8. MASS." CONDITION: very fine. PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of Berrien Moore III. (02-25864/MGM). $150-300.
