Lot 2259 CG BONEHILL CONVERTED MKIV MARTINI HENRY RIFLE.
Cal. 22 LR. S# 15938. Bbl. 30". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1300yds. British MKIV Martini Henry rifle converted to 22 LR by CG Bonehill for the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs. Right side of action has Enfield markings with 1888 date. Left rear of bbl. has "GUARANTEED BRITISH" marking. Top of bbl. has CG Bonehill marking. Bbl. has blued finish. Balance of other parts have cleaned bright appearance. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & leather sling. Toeline of butt has a couple plugged holes. Right side of butt has faint British military markings. No ramrod present. CONDITION: refinished stock set has added finish with a triangular repair behind action, some light chipping at toe, scattered dings, handling marks & scratches. Bbl. retains 90% blue with scattered oxidation, edge wear & fading. Balance of metal has a bright cleaned appearance with light pitting, scattered scratches & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore has counterbored appearance near muzzle with scattered oxidation but strong rifling. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection. (01-28633/MJC).
