The 27-5/8" Bernard damascus barrels are fitted with full length matted rib holding flip-up "U" notch rear sight along with shorter standing leaf sight dovetailed through and silver bead front. Tops of barrels are engraved "L. WURZINWURZINGER'S NACHFOLGER" "FRANZ PORISKA in WIEN". Case hardened round bodied top lever action is fitted with peninsula back spring locks having serpentine rebounding hammers. Right trigger is set. Action and locks are engraved with near full coverage very nicely done Vienna scroll. Maker's name and address are in ribbons on each lock. Round knob pistol grip buttstock made of lightly marbled and figured European walnut measures 13-1/2" over original deteriorated Silver pad. Stock features nicely swept right hand cheekpiece and extensive checkering around ball of grip. Matching captive splinter forend has front pivoting lever allowing barrels to be lifted out of forend and action. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .661. Restriction: L .000 (cyl). CONDITION: fine original "as found". Barrels retaining most of their distinctive damascus pattern. Action retains about 30% case hardening color. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish with some areas rubbed through along with many dings, nicks and scratches. Checkering is moderately worn especially on forend where there is some chipping associated with attempted forend removal. Original pad is perished with rubber crystallized, solidified and chipped. Shotgun bore is considerably pitted but shows shine throughout. Rifle bore is very fine, sharp and shiny throughout. Action is tight. Locks are good. Trigger will set. New case is very fine.
