Cal. 577-500 BPE. S# 6732. The 26-1/8" barrels are engraved "J & W Tolley Makers 1 Conduit St. Regent. London. W." on unmatted portion of full length rib. Rib is fitted with one standing, one folding leaf rear and long German silver front sights. Barrel flats are newly stamped with caliber. Birmingham black powder proofs are on bottoms of barrels. Round bodied Jones underlever action is fitted with peninsula back spring locks having serpentine non-rebounding hammers. Action and locks are engraved with scroll borders. Maker's name is on each lockplate. Newly made plain American walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over ribbed horn buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: rifle is housed in aluminum "Americase"; lined in silver velvet and contains a key. CONDITION: fair to good as completely refurbished. All metal parts retaining essentially all of a re-blue over considerable heavy pitting. Newer stocks retain nearly all their original finish. Bores are good to very good; fairly shiny, lightly pitted with strong rifling throughout. Action is tight. Locks are good. Case is fine. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection. (01-28623/MGM).
