Lot 2227 DESIREABLE 28 GA. PARKER REPRODUCTION DHE SHOTGUN.

Cal. 28 Ga. S# 28-00095. One of 3,500 made; this very early production gun has 26" barrels with Parker Reproduction by Winchester information on left barrel; right is marked "MADE IN JAPAN". Barrel flats with overload proofs are marked for IC and Mod chokes. Frame size "F" is on rear lump. Case hardened action with lightening cuts on watertable features automatic safety and single selective trigger. Action is engraved in usual late "D" style with dogs on sides surrounded by scroll. "PARKER" is on bottom of action. Trigger plate is engraved with four pheasant. Finely crotch figured and well marbled Claro walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over skeleton steel buttplate. Stock features "D" styling with lozenge drop points, multi-point pattern grip checkering and vacant gold oval. Matching splinter ejector forend has usual steel tip and Parker release. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2-1/8". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: neutral cast. LOP: 14-1/4". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 6-1/2 oz. CONDITION: very fine with evidence of light field use. Barrels retaining nearly all original blue. Action retains about 60% original very delicate case color; showing considerable silvering at normal carry point around bottom of action. There are a few minor nicks and dings in original finish of stocks with a fairly large ding at point of comb. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically fine.
