Lot 2210 WINCHESTER MODEL 37 "RED LETTER" SINGLE SHOT

SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 GA, 2 7/8". NSN. Bbl. 28". Model 37 "Red Letter" single shot shotgun mfg. by Winchester between 1936-1963. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, followed by the model and cal. designations above "MOD", and the Winchester trademark logo, with "2 7/8" marked towards the breech. Underside of the receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark logo in red characters .Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and forend have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Aluminum bead front sight. CONDITION: receiver retains large amounts of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with scattered spots of light to mild pitting present overall. Bbl. exhibits areas of thinning that show through to brown patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting several scratches throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a small repair present on the top of the wrist. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1913/MLW).
