Cal. 8.15x46 Norma. S# 7921. Matching numbered 27" oct. barrel. Bottom of barrel has importer style engraving of caliber along with German BUG proofs w/ "2.14" appearing to indicate Feb. 1914 mfg. Barrel sights are Schuetzen style w/ matting on top of barrel, ramp mounted blade front sight, rear sight groove that holds tangent square notch rear sight. Case colored receiver with dbl. set triggers & acanthus scroll engraving. Wedge fastened walnut forearm. Pistol grip walnut stock w/ scalloped black hard rubber grip cap, toeline sling swivel, left side cheekpiece & hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: over 90% blue & case colored finish showing cycling wear & light handling wear. Very good wood finish with numerous light dings & marks. Good worn rifling with light pitting forward of chamber. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-5676/MD). CURIO. $800-1,200.
