Cal. 225 Win. S# 42558. Bbl. 24" heavy tapered with recessed target crown plus Lyman No. 17 globe front sight; drilled and tapped near rear for target blocks. Lyman 90 MJT receiver mounted target sight. Made in England (also by Greener) with proofs of style used from 1868 to 1925; additionally with Australian Kangaroo proof. Cadet rifle originally of 310 caliber used for military training in Australia and made without a safety; has blade type cocking indicator. Gloss blued finish with polished in the white action block. Custom uncheckered stock set having gloss finish and brown Pachmayr White Line butt pad; 14" LOP. Buttstock has raised Monte Carlo cheekpiece and tear drop shaped pistol grip plus beavertail styled forend; both of nicely figured walnut. Not C&R due to customization. CONDITION: very nicely executed with fine wood to metal fit. Stock has light handling marks throughout plus marred forend screw. Some very fine handling marks on blued finish being easiest to see on left side of receiver. Near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection. (25-6408/NW). MODERN. $800-1,200.
