.416 REMINGTON MAGNUM BOLT ACTION SAFARI RIFLE. Cal. 416 Rem Mag. S# SS-001. Bbl. 24 1/4". Bolt action safari rifle custom made by Bill Sturtevant. Left side of the bbl. is engraved "416 REM MAG". Left side of the receiver is faintly marked "RELIANT", with a faint S# "SS-001" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit an apparent black enamel type finish overall. 1-piece custom glass bedded wood pistol grip stock features a rnd. ebony tip, hand checkered panels on the forearm and wrist, 2 brass threaded cross bolts (with ebony inserts) ebony pistol grip cap, palm swell, cheek rest, as well as a black rubber "KICK-EEZ" recoil pad. Stock features an epoxied steel rod which runs through the pistol grip. Toeline of stock exhibits a sling swivel stud, with the bbl. featuring a stud on an integral blued steel band. The custom made action features a gradual rnd. incline on the upper quarter flats and is machined for 30mm Leupold scope rings (without the need for scope ring bases). Receiver is fitted with a Timney trigger. 1-piece trigger guard with separate custom hinged floorplate. Custom made bolt features a hollow elongated bolt knob, with the shroud exhibiting a matching contour to the receiver. Receiver is mounted with 2 Leupold 30mm scope rings, featuring a Leupold VX-5HD 1-5x24mm scope. CONDITION: fine, with metal components nearly all of their original black cerakote finish, exhibiting some light edge wear and a few small superficial handling marks overall. Blued steel sling swivel stud band exhibits areas of heat related discoloration, likely from application. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of apparent hardened grease and/or firing residue, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows a few superficial marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remains very good overall. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic.
