^Lot 2115 MANNLICHER SCHOENAUER MODEL 1924 BOLT ACTION

SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 8x60 mm. S#. 1101. Bbl. 24" tapered round. Ramp mounted bead front sight is equipped with an over size modern hood. The original rear sights consist of a 3 folding leaf express sight on the barrel with a peep sight that folds in the top tang. Left side of receiver is equipped with the base only for an added receiver sight. The front ring and left side of the receiver have several added holes with plug screws for scope mount attachment. Half length cheekpiece walnut stock features a horn grip cap, steel trapdoor buttplate, sling swivel bases and hand checkering. The breech end of the bbl. is stamped "SEQUOIA / 504" referring to Sequoia Importing Co. of San Francisco. The model 1924 was originally chambered only in .30-06. After 1933 it was chambered for 6 cartridges including the 8x60mm. The rifle with additional chamberings was known in Europe as the model 1925. CONDITION: metal surfaces retain the majority of their reblued finish. Refinished stock shows a few marks and slightly weakened checkering. Darkened bore retains strong rifling. (25-5043/DS).
