RIFLE. Cal. 9.3x62mm. S# N666. Bbl. 24 1/2". 1 only 277 Model 246 bolt action rifles mfg. by Husqvarna from a Belgian Mauser action between 1939-1941, prior German occupation. The top of the tapered rnd. bbl. is marked "HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS A.B. KAL. 9.3 x 62", with "ANTIOXID" (indicating nickel steel) marked on the left, followed by the S# "N666" towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked with Belgian commercial proofs (below wood line), with boxed "A" proofs found on various parts and components. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the follower, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece black epoxy bedded schnabel tipped black synthetic capped pistol grip stock features point pattern checkering at the wrist and a red rubber Decelerator recoil pad. Stock has been lightly sanded and professionally refinished. Ramped, hooded, and white beaded blade front sight, with blank in rear sight dovetail, and bolt stop housing mounted Lyman No. 35 adj. aperture rear sight. Left side of stock has been inletted to accommodate the rear sight. Toeline of stock features a sling swivel, with a band mounted sling swivel present on the bbl. Semi-spherical bolt knob with flat checkered panel on underside. All serialized parts are matching and include the receiver ( "666" on underside) and the bbl. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their blue finish, exhibiting some spots and small areas of light to mild wear and thinning, scattered scratches and superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting a consistent scattering of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise presents very nicely. Interior of stock is cracked between the trigger and floorplate slots, with a filled in epoxy repair present on the interior at and around the rear receiver tang screw area.
