ACTION TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 308 Win. S# G1313061. Bbl. 26 7/8". Model 70 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1977 and subsequently customized into a target/competition configuration. The underside of the heavy tapered stainless steel Obermeyer bbl. is marked "1588 308 11/ 7-78 111", followed by "BJQ/ RTD". Receiver exhibits standard factory markings, with an apparent "HALPLAIT" or "HALPLATT" lightly etched on the underside. Receiver exhibits a matte blue finish, with the bolt handle, bolt shroud, trigger guard, and floorplate exhibiting a polished blue finish. Bolt body is jeweled and polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip stock features an aluminum hand stop rail on the underside of the forearm (currently fitted with a Harris 1A2 Ultralight bipod), a flare at the bottom of the pistol grip, as well as a Mershon Company "White Line" Sure Grip grooved black rubber recoil pad. Bbl. features a removable black anodized aluminum dovetail mount. Receiver is drilled and tapped with 2 dovetail rails and 2 scope rings, featuring a TASCO World Class 3-9x50mm scope. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their factory finishes, exhibiting some superficial handling marks overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows a few scattered superficial marks and small impressions, but otherwise remains very good to excellent overall. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic.
