Lot 2062 EARLY WINCHESTER MODEL 43 .218 BEE BOLT ACTION

RIFLE. Cal. 218 Bee. S# 4256. Bbl. 24 1/2". Model 43 bolt action rifle chambered in .218 Bee mfg. by Winchester circa. 1949-1957. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, as well as the model and cal. designations. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S# "4256". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Toeline of butt and underside of forearm feature sling swivels. Ramped aluminum beaded blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Top of receiver (to rear of ejection port) and bbl. (towards breech) are each drilled and tapped with 2 holes and plug screws. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside of the bolt body. MAGS: 1 unmarked blued steel 4-rd. mag. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks overall. Sides of bbl. at muzzle exhibit some areas of light to mild thinning. Bolt knob has faded to a gray patina, exhibiting some spots of dark surface oxidation, with wear fading to gray patina present on the rear of the bolt assembly. Trigger guard exhibits light to mild wear (primarily on edges), scattered handling marks, and scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection.
