Lot 2057 NICE PRE-64 WINCHESTER MODEL 70 FEATHERWEIGHT
BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 243 Win. S# 361413. Bbl. 22". Model 70 Featherweight bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1956. Left side of the bbl. exhibits the Winchester trademark logo, followed by standard factory markings denoting the model and cal. designations. Receiver exhibits a dull blue finish, with the bbl., bolt handle, and bolt shroud exhibiting a standard blue finish. Bolt is polished in-the-white. Aluminum trigger guard exhibits a black anodized finish, with the aluminum floorplate exhibiting a blue anodized finish. 1-piece checkered wood Monte Carlo pistol grip buttstock, with checkered aluminum buttplate. Ramped, hooded, and aluminum beaded blade front sight, with flip-up U-notch rear sight. Receiver is mounted with a set of Weaver detachable scope rings, fitted with a Weaver K3 60-B scope. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some small spots of discoloration and light surface oxidation on the bbl. Bolt knob and handle show light to mild thinning that shows through to gray patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1946/MLW).
