WITH SCOPE. Cal. 5.6x61 VHSE (Vom Hofe Super Express). S# 37962 (on top of sidewall). Developed in 1930, this cartridge was Europe's answer to the 220 Swift and this rifle has 25-1/2" tapered round barrel fitted with one standing rear and silver bead front sights in soldered on bases. Maker's name and address are on left rear of barrel. Model 98 small ring standard length action has claw scope bases fitted. Bolt handle has been nicely turned down and lengthened. Bottom metal has hinged floorplate with lever release and double set triggers are fitted. Action has some line and border engraving and bolt knob has two checkered panels. Capped pistol grip stock of plain European walnut measures 13-7/8" over ribbed hard rubber buttplate and features small right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering and uncheckered forend. Sling loops are found on toeline and bottom of barrel. Scope is mounted with Zeiss VZF 1.5 -6X rail scope with 3 post reticle in claw mounts; rear with windage. CONDITION: fine. Metal retaining over 85% original blue. Stock with most of its original oil finish. Checkering is lightly worn. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically good.
