SCOPE. Cal. 30-06. S# 247278. The 20" lightweight barrel has all visible Winchester markings removed except for Winchester proof mark on left rear. A long front sight ramp is soldered on which holds gold bead. Pre-64 model 70 action has had custom tang safety added by Anderson (stamped on transfer bar). Standard bottom metal is retained. Pistol grip stock made of nicely figured French walnut measures 13-1/2" over Neidner steel buttplate and features swept Monte Carlo shadow line cheekpiece, ebony grip cap with gold diamond at center, ebony forend tip and sling eyes. Leonard Mews stamp is in barrel channel and stock is checkered in his very cleanly cut fleur-de-lis pattern.
