^Lot 1715 WWII PERIOD JAPANESE NAVAL OFFICERS DAGGER.

This dagger measures 16 1/4" overall with an 8 3/4" blade that has a 6 1/2" hi leading to a copper habaki. There is an S shaped gilded brass guard with a single seppa above and below. Original fuchi and kashira with a five petal cherry blossom on the top. White simulated shark skin grip with wire wrap and one cherry blossom on each side. The saya has gilded brass fittings that repeat the cherry blossom motif. The body of the saya is brown leather over wood. CONDITION: Blade has a nice polish. Tsuka shows light wear with minor oxidation to the fuchi and wire. The saya shows light wear overall. (02-25816/BF). $400-700.
